Recurring checklists

Pause and resume

Stop a recurring checklist for a while without losing its routine, what happens to work already open, and why one can pause by itself.

Pausing stops a recurring checklist from making new checklists. Its rhythm, its times and who does what are kept, so resuming picks up where it left off.

Pause

Open the recurring checklist and choose Pause recurring checklist. The confirmation says which checklist won't open.

  • The next checklist, if it was already made and hasn't opened yet, is removed.
  • Checklists that are already open stay. Their steps can still be done, and they can be finished as usual.
  • No new checklists are made until you resume.

Resume

Open the paused recurring checklist and choose Review and resume. The confirmation shows the day it starts again.

Resuming never fills in the days it was paused. If it was paused for a week, there is no catch-up checklist for that week: the next checklist is the next date in the rhythm after the latest one still there.

When it pauses by itself

If someone the routine names leaves the organization, the recurring checklist pauses, so no checklist is made with a part that nobody does. The next checklist, if it was made and hasn't opened, is removed. The recurring checklist says which part needs someone, for example "Kitchen needs someone".

Choose who does that part and it starts again by itself, from the next date. Work already open stays as it is, and nobody else is given the part without being chosen.

When the next checklist is late

If ChecklistSquad couldn't make the next checklist, its owners see "The next checklist is late" on the recurring checklist. It keeps trying every few minutes on its own. If the message stays, write to hello@checklistsquad.com.
